EXECUTIVE EXCELLENCE KOKODA HIGHLIGHTS

2003

• EE organised and ran the first ever ladies-only trek of Kokoda.

• EE planned and ran the first ever Anzac Day Service on the Kokoda Track (Brigade Hill) with over 40 EE trekkers in attendance.

• EE set the record for the fastest Over and Back crossing of the Kokoda Track (Brian Freeman, Russell McCart, Justin Goddard and Michael McVeigh).

2004

• EE planned, organised and ran the first ever Anzac Day Service at the newly built Isurava Memorial with 60 Australian EE trekkers in attendance.

• EE conducted the Damien Parer (Wartime Academy Award-Winning cameraman) Memorial Trek of Kokoda.

• Brian Freeman smashed the 18 year old World Record for the fastest one way crossing of Kokoda finishing in 24 hours and 59 minutes, running solo, self navigating and following the longer, wartime Kokoda Track through the village of Myola.

2005

• EE again planned, organised and ran the Isurava Memorial Service on Anzac Day with over 120 Australian EE trekkers in attendance.

• EE was selected to train and prepare the young actors in weapon handling, patrolling and infantry minor tactics for the 2006 movie, Kokoda.

2006

• While trekking with EE, Channel Seven Sunrise broadcast live into Australian homes from the Isurava Memorial Service on Anzac Day with over 150 EE trekkers in attendance.

• Through its internal Kids of Kokoda charity, EE built and furnished elementary schools for the children of Kokoda, Alola and Sogeri.

• EE, again with monies raised through it's own charity established guest houses for local villages and residents who were not previously receiving revenues from general trekking itineraries; therefore ensuring fair and equal distribution of trekker fees across the Kokoda Track.

• EE continues to provide medical, education, sporting and clothing supplies to the villages and communities across the Kokoda Track.

2007

• EE took four trek groups along the Kokoda Track to commemorate ANZAC Day.

• In July, EE took three generations from the one family across the track - grandfather aged 71, father aged 43 and son aged 16.

• In October, EE lead the first ever White Ribbon Kokoda trek which aimed to create awareness of the White Ribbon Day Foundation and to eliminate violence against women by promoting culture-change around the issue. White Ribbon Chairman Andrew O'Keefe and Parramatta Eels player Daniel Wagon took part in the trek along with others who wished to raise awareness and funds to support the foundation.

EE committed $6,000 to the Kokoda Cyclone Appeal in November, with our past Kokoda trekkers donating another $3000.
