OUR ITINERARY

EE conducts an extensive Kokoda trekking program throughout the Papua New Guinea dry season. Each month between May and October, a 10 day Kokoda trek is programmed. Treks leave on a Friday and return 10 days later on the second Sunday following our departure. Our 10 day program ensures busy professionals are only out of the office for the best part of one working week.

EE no longer publishes detailed Kokoda itineraries, although we are happy to discuss itineraries with you over the phone or in one of our briefings or presentations. Apart from our ANZAC Kokoda Expedition all our treks operate from North to South (Kokoda Village to Ower's Corner). We do this because it's the same way the battle unfolded as Australian Soldiers fought a courageous and strategically brilliant withdrawal from Kokoda towards Ower's Corner.

All of our Kokoda treks, except Anzac Kokoda, are a 10 day inclusive trip from the time you leave Australia to the day you return to Australia. ANZAC is 11 days and this is due to the time of year (we may get more rain at this time of year) and because of the ANZAC service.

We have found that our treks are the perfect length. Any longer and you experience 'Ground Hog Day' and any shorter we believe you are being pushed too hard and no redundancy exists in the program. Remember, you are physically well prepared for the treks, our safety and success record substantiates this.

OUR GUEST HOUSES AND CAMPSITES

No formal booking system exists for campsites or guest houses across the Kokoda Track. However, EE has re-written our itinerary to avoid overcrowding of campsites. We have funded local residents, villages and communities, who were not getting trekkers staying in their villages or on their land, to build guest houses and campsites in these locations. On our new itinerary, which we do not publish, you will stay in these newly built and exclusive guest houses and campsites.

These new guest houses ensure all communities, not just the major villages and campsites, get a share of revenues from trekkers. In return, EE has its own dedicated campsites and guest houses for our exclusive use on the nights our trekkers are in these locations. Therefore, we avoid overcrowded guest houses and campsites, making the trip a little more comfortable for everyone.
